We at Clayton & Company Hairdressing in Newcastle are dedicated to hair excellence. Though we have only been established as a business for four years, we are a Multi award-winning salon. We are winners of the Customer Excellence Awards for the Best Hair and Beauty Salon in 2009 and again in 2010 and our salon owner Paul Clayton was named Best Hairdresser for 2010 www.smeawards.co.uk
We have recently relocated from Gosforth into Newcastle city centre in March 2011. We are based in within the Newcastle Hair & Beauty Clinic on Northumberland Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, where a full and extensive range of Hairdressing & Beauty services are available. We have a range of hairdressing levels within the salon, prices differ according to your hairdresser's experience and educational training level. We are a L'Oréal Prestige salon and we are also registered with the FSB.

About our award-winning hairdressing team
Our professional and reliable hairdressing team consistently provide a quality service. Our salon owner and manager Paul Clayton has over 25 years of hairdressing experience. Paul has attended many educational courses and has demonstrated his skills and experience to other hairdressers on many occasions.
Kenny Leo, Artistic Director has a newly appointed role of assistant manager to Paul Clayton. He is a fantastic hairdresser and a great asset to the team.
Our second Artistic Director Amanda Giles who has worked with our fantastic team since 2010 joining us from another salon, our clients love the time and effort she puts into their services and is always happy to help. Hence the promotion to artistic Director in March 2012.
Our stylist is Danielle Simons who is an up-and-coming hairdresser. Danielle has been with the team from the very start of her training. She has achieved her NVQ Level 2 in March 2012 when she was promoted to Stylist. Danielle Simons was showing superstar qualities at such an early stage in hairdressing and is a pleasure to have on our team.
Our assistants are relatively new to the industry but their passion and excitement are like a breath of fresh air in the salon. Abby Mercer joined our team in August 2011 and is showing a great passion for what we do.

But I got booked in & they sorted straight away! Fantastic service, very welcoming, staff are great & always enjoy the chat when I am there! The staff are great, not only friendly but have detailed knowledge of products and how to use them for hair. I have been advised on types of styling products and, as of today, colours to suit my hair. I am happy with my hair everytime I walk out the shop, I highly recommend it.

The atmosphere is very welcoming and relaxing, the products are excellent (try the mythic oil for nourishing your hair!), and people often comment on how good my hair looks after a visit. Also, the friendly banter comes at no extra cost if you want it!

Kenny has been styling and colouring my hair for approximately 2 years and I'm always complimented on the style and condition. I am very happy with my hair and would not consider going anywhere else. Once you visit this salon you will know what I mean. All of the staff are so friendly and you always receive a warm welcome. I would give them 10 stars if it was possible.

The colouring, the cutting and the finishing all made me look so much better than when I went in. For once I didn?t have to ?fake it? at the end of the appointment when they do the mirror behind the head thing. I was truly thrilled with the way I looked. Amanda?s skill with cutting and colouring made my hair look so much thicker and healthier. Really looking forward to next visit.

-brilliant service - ht30 (18/01/2012) went to clayton company hairdressers the other week, it was my second visit. i got my hair done by amanda. this included stripping my hair twice from a washed out deep red, to a colour and highlights on top. my hair was amazing afterwards and still in amazingly good condition. she gave me really good advice as i was nervous at first as id never be lighter than dark brown before. she was brilliant. offering me advice on how to style my hair and the right products to use and purchase in the salon (not too expensive either). i will be booking up to see her again.
